The horse project is a great way to be able to gain valuable experience and skills through engaging activities like showing and horse judging. There are so many great skills learned through this program.

In this project you will learn:

  • Responsibility
  • Proper nutrition
  • Proper care for your animal
  • Decision making

And you can also learn through various other opportunities:

  • Public Speaking
  • Leadership
  • Community Service

You don’t have to own a horse to be involved with this project. Consider horse judging competition!

The Horse group offers a lot of ways to learn about horses such as safety, nutrition, care, anatomy etc.  We are planning to explore all of these and more this year.

There are several opportunities to compete as a team or individually coming up in 2017.  Take a minute to review these opportunities below and let me know if you would be interested in any of these types of competitions.

Quizbowl: Team competition based on horse knowledge

Hippology: Hands on horse knowledge, eg identifying parts of a horse

Horse Skill a thon: Demonstrating horse related skills such as wrapping legs.

Horse Educational Presentations: 12 minute PowerPoint Presentation, judged
